Coronation In Chaos
(Iron, Blood And Death Corporation)
32:33min

After an extended and slightly different (more on this later) intro, we are hit with a relentless blast fest that is a blackened form of War Metal. It reminds me at times of early FOREST OF IMPALED, but a tad more chaotic and dissonant. I say this because, besides the aforementioned introduction, there are some different sounding elements, like for example at the beginning of ‘Serpenitence’ and also the ending of ‘Effigial Ruin’. Also a quick gaze at the cover art will most definitely let you know what you are about to embark upon. It could be an outtake of the chaos gods from the Warhammer / Realm Of Chaos gaming series. So with a runtime of a bit over 30 minutes, you don’t get much in the variation department, and if it were any longer of a release, boredom may have set in because of the constant blasting and at times the chaotic nature of the tracks. Most of the songs follow a specific blueprint, with the vocals having a sound much like ‘Legion’ and also ‘Blackthorn’ from THORNSPAWN. The riffing is probably the main draw, and much can be said for the drumming as well. I will note that they sound a little too light in the sound factor. Almost sounds a bit programmed at times. This may not be a “Must Buy” for those speed freaks of the more blackened sort due to its repetitive nature, but it could be a fairly decent addition if you are a purist. Take a look at the latest from the band coming out of the Pacific Northwest. www.facebook.com/hexalter, www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61563068500501
