When I first saw the cover I was afraid of the worst and I didn’t expect too much besides another Cannibal Corpse Goregrind clone. The cover and also the band name of this German quintet drips of cliché. The record starts with a short intro sequence from the great movie “Der Totmacher” with Götz George. I’m not sure that Götz knows he is opener of a Death Metal record. And when the first riff comes to my ear I was surprised. Yes, Cannibal Corpse is the godfather of these guys and besides the fact that they play a little more midtempo there’s not too much difference. You get half an hour of US influenced Gore Death Metal with blastbeat parts, nice midtempo mashers and vocals that reminds of Mr. Corpsegrinder. The songs are well arranged with all elements that good Death Metal songs need and the lyrics contain the awaited gore elements. Not spectacular but technically great performed and well produced. So for all fans of Cannibal Corpse, this is a great alternative from Regensburg / Schwandorf to bridge the time to the next record from the US boys. www.humanbloodfeast.com.
