It’s easy to ignore an album if its cover design does not immediately spark interest. Sadly, most of the time that is the correct thing to do. Cheap computer-generated images usually signal the same machine-produced music. But appearances can be deceiving, if only once in a blue moon. So, with ORCRIST, please take some time to examine their new record in detail, for its content far exceeds its surface appearance. They are not a band that will floor you with their unparalleled originality, but they will produce a warm glow of satisfaction. The satisfaction comes from knowing that Black Metal can still be done well; that there are some folks out there who want to, “go for the jugular”, as Fenriz of DARKTHRONE put it.
