Maarten Luysterburg aka "Der Knüppelmeister" aka "Ploegbaas" from BRUTUS (who also used to play in GODDESS OF DESIRE) killed himself after he jumped in front of a passing train last Tuesday. Apparently, longtime depressions, together with medication and drugs were supposed to be the cause.

Florida-based Death Metallers DIABOLIC have issued the following update: "Just got a call from Jerry Mortellaro (ex-DIABOLIC guitarist) tonight letting us know that Bryan Hipp, ex-DIABOLIC guitarist, died last night (Saturday, Oct. 21). Cause of death unknown. Bryan Hipp helped write songs off the DIABOLIC album "Subterranal Magnitude" and helped DIABOLIC complete the ‘Death Metal Massacre’ Metal Maniacs tour 2000, opening for CANNIBAL CORPSE, GOD DETHRONED and HATE ETERNAL. We are posting the song ‘Infernalism’ Bryan Hipp wrote back in 1999. Bryan Hipp also played in BRUTALITY, CRADLE OF FILTH, and in BLASTMASTERS he helped write the song ‘Implemented Digital Control’!!! On stage Bryan Hipp would explode with raging headspins. His talent to create some of the most dark and evil riffs will be missed." DIABOLIC has uploaded a new song, entitled ‘Devour The Subconscious’, to the band’s MySpace page. The track comes off "Shellfire And Tombstones", which was recorded and mixed in July / August 2006 at Diet Of Worms Studio in Seffner, Florida with producer Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (MORBID ANGEL). The album features artwork by acclaimed Swedish artist Mathias Noren and is tentatively scheduled for release early 2007 through an as-yet-undetermined label.

The CD is scheduled for a January / beginning of February 2007 release. The only thing that still has to be done is the layout for the booklet and the logo. The band has hired Erik Sahlström (MAZE OF TORMENT, ex – SERPENT OBSCENE, ex – DECEIVER) for this job. You can already check out soundfiles from the album here: www.myspace.com/thrownbitch
Earache label manager Dan Tobin commented on Jared Anderson‘s passing: ‘I think Erik Rutan has pretty much said it all when it comes to expressing the regret and shock at Jared’s passing. I only met the guy a couple of times when he came through the UK with Morbid Angel, but he struck me as a thoughtful and dedicated musician who was able to take on the challenges presented to him by both Hate Eternal and Morbid Angel. Particularly with Morbid Angel, he won over fans with his wholehearted commitment to the music and also the fans of the music. The response from the fans to the news of his death only goes to prove the positive impression he made on people.’
SEVERE TORTURE, currently on tour with Vader and God Dethroned, have been keeping a diary whilst out on the road. You can check it out at their myspace domain.
According to Cincinnati.com, former MORBID ANGEL / HATE ETERNAL bassist / vocalist Jared Anderson passed away on Saturday, October 14 at the age of 30. The cause of his death has not yet been released. Jared was most recently working on a project which was known by its alias AS ONE… He described the band’s musical direction on his MySpace page as "a revision of my INTERNECINE writings, or shall I say ‘written in the vein of.’ The INTERNECINE record itself was all ‘old’ material from the early to mid-’90s that I was given the offer to record, so obviously I opted to do so. Highly technical, obscure Death Metal was purely the intent of INTERNECINE. Although most of the material was written many years prior to recording it, there were a couple of songs that were more recent. The two songs were ‘The Elder Gods’ and ‘The Calling Of The Hordes’. This is where AS ONE… comes in, kind of continuing where I left off so to speak, with a much more matured sound."

REVELATION OF DOOM split up with former vocalist Longinus. His departure was caused by "the different way of understanding the process of working, rehearsing, playing live and being a member of the band in general". With him the band started to compose new material for their second album, which is planned to be released via Pagan Records in 2007. For more info check out www.revelationofdoom.co.nr

This band will be available for limited weekend shows starting in early 2007, provided they have plenty of lead time due to the busy careers of each musician. The music will be in the classic Internal Bleeding vein: straight up, pure heaviness, slam and no-nonsense riffing. A release will be coming in the mid-summer of 2007. For further information, please feel free to contact Chris/IB on myspace or email ibldng@aol.com for more information.
DEW-SCENTED have 12 new songs completed and are working on some cool cover version ideas for the upcoming album which will be released early 2007 via Nuclear Blast Records. Starting by the end of October, they will record at Soundlodge Studio (God Dethroned, Obscenity, Mandrake, etc.) in Northern Germany, while Andy Sneap (Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Kreator, Killswitch Engage, etc.) is gonna mix and master the album at his Backstage Studios in England. The album is still not titled, but the band is very much open for any good suggestions. Guitarist Flo Mueller (who wasn’t part of the recordings for "Issue VI" and its first touring leg) is back in the band. Him and Hendrik have been writing some material for the new album. After vocalist Leif had already been featured with guest spots some years ago on the Night In Gales album "Nailwork" and also on Holy Moses’ "Disorder Of The Order", he entered studios with French extreme Death Metallers Benighted to leave some shouts on their "Identisick" album. He also appears on the Lifeforce Records album "Bloodred Salvation" by Fall Of Serenity. Bassplayer Alex has a new album out with his longterm band Obscenity via Armageddon Music ("Where Sinners Bleed") and guitarist Hendrik is appearing with some lead guitar stuff on the second Reckless Tide album "Helleraser", soon to be out on Armageddon Music as well.
New Zealand’s DAWN OF AZAZEL have been confirmed as the main support act for Deicide’s upcoming New Zealand / Australian tour. "We are extremely honoured to be supporting Deicide on this tour", said frontmand Rigel Walshe. "Deicide is one of our strongest influences and one of the key bands that drew us all to the extreme end of metal when we were teenagers, so to be supporting them on this tour definitely is a tremendous accomplishment in our eyes and gives a sense of things coming full circle to be playing to their fans throughout Australia." Prior to supporting Deicide, DAWN OF AZAZEL will play two shows with Skinless in November. The band’s latest album "Sedition" was re-released in September with a video bonus track and distributed through RED / Megaforce Records / MIC via Ibex Moon Records. "Sedition" is also now available for download online through Itunes and mailorder through CD Universe. Since completing a Spring North American tour with Incantation and Vital Remains, Dawn of Azazel has been working on new material for the follow-up to "Sedition". "We have already created four new tracks and we feel confident that this material will easily surpass our previous material in aggression, speed, and originality", said Walshe. "We aim to have another four by the end of January 2007, when we will begin the process of perfecting this material for recording late in 2007."

DEICIDE were practicing in their industrially zoned practice space, surrounded by sonically booming concrete factories, when they were surprisingly bombarded by Florida’s Pasco County Sheriff’s department and asked to leave. DEICIDE, who have been practicing in this legally deemed "industrial" area for quite some time, were immensely shocked and were forced to evacuate the practice space quaintly nestled between a mass of factories that inherently produce bombastic sound. DEICIDE are appalled at the random uprooting and have been forced to find a new practice space, inconveniently coinciding with the impending kick-off of their fall world tour. DEICIDE will be embarking on a world-wide fall headlining tour in support of "The Stench Of Redemption" and are excited to bring a refreshed dose of brutality to the Metal masses.
