The Eternal Conflagration

Death Metal is served by these three Australian warriors. Fast played, almost missing any mid-tempo parts, they are blasting their way down the playtime. Some people may cry about this monotony, but if one favours bands like IMMOLATION or EXHUMED, the song-structure should be appreciated. Lyrically ABOMINATOR tend more to the dark / occult side, performed by a vocalist who is grunting all the time, and like the music, no great variety here. Well, I like this style of Death Metal, although I must admit that the decent listener easily could be bored by this style. Be it on purpose or not, the production underlines this atmosphere, making “The Eternal Conflagration” sounding more like a mash than a sophisticated high-end production. ABOMINATOR are active for twelve years by now and this is their fourth full-length album, so I guess they have an accurate vision how their music should sound like and therefore I think the whole output is more or less the way ABOMINATOR wanted to have it. To sum it up, this output is a two-sided affair. On the one hand it could be described as boring Death Metal with poor production. But on the other hand it could be portrayed as intense, fierce Death Metal with musicians who emphasize more on brutality and pandemonic terror than on soulless technique. I prefer the last interpretation. www.abominator.net
