La Cité Des Vents

With their first demo “La Chronique Des Vents”, from 2008, the EP “À La Croisée Des Vents”, from 2008 as well and the compilation “Opus I” from 2009, AORLHAC released their first full-length “La Cité Des Vents” originally in 2010. The label Les Acteurs De L’Ombre Productions is bringing the album back to life now as a DIN A5 sized digipak. This album is more in the traditional Black Metal vein but still incorporating AORLHAC’s DNA of Folk and Heavy Metal components, more specifically in songs like ‘Vers Les Honneurs’, in which this is notorious. The band appealed to their previous resources in terms of sound, style and identity, even though here the “traditional” Black Metal aura is more present. Thus, the band still preserves the hopelessness, melancholy and desperation, but sounding even more furious here. A good example of this is the song ‘La Comptine Du Drac’ which constantly oscillates, but still falling on a more “aggressive” song, able to combine Folk, speed, rage, melody and atmosphere at the same time all in one candle. Followed by the same spirit, the song ‘Les Enfants Des Limbes’ will give us this same sensation and will lead us to some sort of “danse macabre” along the way. The album closes with the song ‘Over Bjoergvin Graater Himmerik IV’ (TAAKE cover), that might show part of the influences of the band and may reveal the sources of the mountains where AORLHAC have climbed to get their wisdom and blood. Definitely a good piece for 2024 if you missed the original! For more information please visit www.facebook.com/aorlhac or www.facebook.com/ladloproductions
