Once again Mikko Aspa proves his fine musical and technical abilities and his instinct for plain Black Metal, on this album. "New Golgotha Rising" is now his 8th full-length and still he is able to deliver diverse and entertaining antipathy with CLANDESTINE BLAZE. From the start, you feel he wanted to step back from the more epic styled previous album "Harmony Of Struggle", where his voice is accentuated with way more reverb then it is here. The whole idea behind "Harmony Of Struggle" seems more focused on a atmospheric confrontation with a doomed and wrecked humanity. Whereby on "New Golgotha Rising" he aims for a more raw and bitter raid onto your subconsciousness. He reduces the sound to a minimum and coincidently raises his hate to a maximum lyrically wise. The guitars are highly distorted all the time and it seems like a bass is total absent. Which creates a thin and sorta weak sound. But also resulting in a bitter coldness and obscenity, which is just perfect for what this album wants to transport. He plays with conciliatory elements as well as disharmonious and mean melodies.
