The finish terror-commando returns with their third full-length and nothing changed, still as early-Darkthrone-ish as Black Metal can get, and within all the upcoming trend to sound as DARKTHRONE as possible, this is still my favourite choice. And this band simply does it already for a couple of years. Most of the tracks featured here (there is by the way also a CD-version available via Northern Heritage) were already released on their four limited demo tapes which the band sold last year in very special editions (strictly limited, booklets covered in blood, the "Blood & Cum" – tape e.g. with – errr – blood and cum) so I already knew there couldn’t be any disappointment. Although I think that "Night Of The Unholy Flames" is their best effort, most bands were simply happy if they once released an album like "Fist…". Recorded with an 8-tracker (my guess), this simply captured the feeling of Scandinavia at the beginning of the 90s, and lyricwise the band still remains as direct as possible: The titletrack vanishing all monotheistic religions out of the northern world and the song ‘Praising The Self’ simply sums up what all this is about: "No god, no religion, no race, no culture". Deeply rooted in the underground-course, taking no compromises, sometimes rather un-p.c. (but should Black Metal be politically correct?), this is probably the band that I can only recommend to support. Music- and attitudewise light years above 95% of nowadays Black Metal – "scene". Must-have.
