Often being hailed as ‘a little brother of the corpse grinders XYSMA’, DISGRACE were one of those very few extreme sounding bands in the creating process of the first wave of Finnish Death Metal, which started in the late eighties in the barren territories of Finland; hugely inspired by basically everything that was coming from the direction of the Swedish underground Death Metal scene back in those days. Without prolonging your agony by stretching my introduction about DISGRACE further than this, I am glad to announce to all of you, finally these uncompromising Finnish Deathgrinders’ early demo + EP works have been collected and mastered under one package, very aptly titled as "1990". This CD contains the band’s two official demos: 2nd demo "Beyond The Immortalized Existence" and 3rd demo "Inside The Labyrinth Of Depression" – as well as the band’s 7-inch EP titled "Depths Of Gods", originally released by an infamous and highly controversial label Seraphic Decay Records. All these 3 particular releases in question were recorded during 1990, hence the album title of this collection of early DISGRACE’s material. Back in the early days, DISGRACE were truly setting little bushfires all around the worldwide underground scene by their somewhat unique, mercilessly punishing mixture of both Grindcore and Death Metal – and eventually leaving a few deep scar marks into the minds of extreme Metal community people, some 20 long years ago. There’s no way one could avoid from some nostalgic moments when playing these absolutely very important pieces of the Finnish underground Metal gems after so many years. After spinning the CD over and over and over again, it all felt like I was living those days once again; feeling very energetic and enthusiastic due to a strong punch I was offered by all of these three DISGRACE’s aforementioned recordings, full of unexplained magnetism. In fact, even getting the band’s past works finally saved and transferred from the dusty and undoubtedly damaged tapes into more modern formats, could be considered as some sort of an act of making cultural history, so my big thumbs up go deservingly to Big Money Recordings’ as well as Svart Records’ directions as both of them take care of putting these DISGRACE goodies of the early times out in 3 different formats (Big Money Recordings being responsible for getting these available both as CD-version and download – and the latter mentioned as a limited run of 550 vinyl copies only). Make sure to get your own copies now because I bet these won’t last forever – unless a digital download is all you are completely satisfied with.
