Well, real insiders might have already recognised that this label isn’t only referring to a song by INCANTATION with its name, it actually IS the label of the blasphemous Deathers’ mastermind John McEntee. Besides the FUNERUS album (which will be reissued with a cool Moyen cover soon) Cincinatti’s ESTUARY are one of their recording artists and their debut is certainly something that might gain some attention… Blending technical Death / Thrash with front lady Zdenka’s low growls and aggressive screams, a couple of melodies which fortunately do not turn out to be cheesy or overdone ESTUARY’s sound is certainly something deserving the attribute “unique”! A continuously driving tempo, a good dose of variation, a first-class production, complex yet effective riffing and some lead guitar extravaganzas that solo-despisers might dislike are a few other features of the ESTUARY sound. This is definitely a skilled, powerful band worth of being checked out and though I found it a little hard to get warm with this CD it should not keep you from trying it out… www.ibexmoonrecords.com
