ETERNAL PAIN

This could have been a really good one, if there wasn’t the disappointing vocalist – musically well-performed and well-produced melodic Death / Thrash, an extremely professional layout and with 16 tracks in over 60 minutes definitely value for money! But the vocals ruin the overall good impression ETERNAL PAIN otherwise leave behind. It might be just a matter of taste, but somehow my ears tell me this guy’s voice is the wrong cast for this type of music – try track No.4 ‘Hail That Day’ and you should understand my critical remark. German ETERNAL PAIN compiled two demo releases on “In Pain We Trust” and on the second half of the CD entitled “Chapter II” one can witness a significant change in the vocal department, but unfortunately not for the better. It’s a pity that ETERNAL PAIN are more or less ruined by this marginal dark spot on their white vest. Judging a singer is always a very subjective thing, so I would not say that no one out there will enjoy this band – visit their website, give ETERNAL PAIN a chance and maybe you can live with the vocalist. Musically the five guys are definitely very strong and deliver a solid slab of melodic, thrashing Death Metal and their musical competence is obvious to me. If there just wasn’t that singer… www.eternalpain.com
