RITUAL NECROMANCY
Disinterred Horror
(Dark Descent Records)
37:44min

This is the second album from this American band, 7 years after their debut album, and they have gone a good way since then. This is a more mature offering in every aspect yet never denying their origin. Death Metal that recalls INCANTATION, IMMOLATION and a bit of SUFFOCATION, yet with more atmosphere. The band mainly keeps it up-tempo most of the time, and there is some subtle touches of melody, yet always keeping that impending doom sensation in all their songs. Maybe the vocals and some riffs might sound quite similar in a few songs, but they are capable enough to create some very deadly songs and conjure atmospheres of pain and despair with heaviness without sounding as a wall of noise. Maybe their debut album suffered from some production issue whereas in here everything is right on spot and makes everything sound clear, yet heavy. Only five songs yet almost 40 minutes of total horror. Although the style seems to be saturated, the band is able to conjure a very good album, with so many great riffs, that this might as well become a favorite for the fans of the style. www.facebook.com/ritual-necromancy-109890659103818, www.darkdescentrecords.com
