Florida’s RESURRECTION have parted ways with bassplayer / vocalist Damien Chavez and recruited Jeff Surmell of SOLACE OF REQUIEM to fill in for the upcoming European tour. Here’s the official band statement: "As of today (Feb. 18, 2014) RESURRECTION vocalist / bassist Damian Chavez is no longer with the band. Many reasons went into the decision to part ways, but all that needs to be said is that Damien is on a different level musically as well as personally, than the rest of the band. Our priorities just no longer aligned. Without going into excessive and unnecessary detail, and as hard as it is this close to the European tour, the band had to make the tough decision to cut our losses and move on. Jeff Sumrell, frontman for the technical Death Metal band SOLACE OF REQUIEM will be handling the vocal and bass duties during the upcoming "March Of Death" European tour. Jeff toured with the band in 2010 during the "Resurrected In Europe" tour and kicked ass every night of the tour. Jeff’s vocal style and power dramatically add to the brutality of our live performance and we’re excited about what the future might hold with Jeff and RESURRECTION. Los Angeles based Metallers HELLION will release a 2-disc anthology entitled "To Hellion And Back" through HNE / Cherry Red Records on April 1, 2014. The first 1,000 copies will be autographed by the band’s singer, Ann Boleyn. "To Hellion And Back" features a collection of fan favorites, hard-to-find recordings and previously unreleased tracks. The cover artwork was created by Gaetano Di Falco and inspired by a photography of P.G. Brunelli. HELLION’s new tracks were produced by Ken Scott, who has already been working on albums from THE BEATLES, SUPERTRAMP, DAVID BOWIE, MISSING PERSONS and KANSAS. Chile’s old school Death Metallers ATOMIC AGGRESSOR are currently recording their debut album "Sights Of Suffering" at Pulsar Studios in Santiago, with a release date scheduled later this year through Hells Headbangers (Rawforce Records will be handling the record in Chile). Here’s an official statement from the band: "We are honored to be supported by Hells Headbangers and Rawforce Records in our largest project to date. It hasn’t been easy, but we have tried to follow the story at the point we left in the early ’90s, keeping the style we used to play in 1991. Deathbangers can expect nine new tracks of genuine South American old school Death Metal, including many rhythm changes, heaviness, and some Thrash Metal influences." ATOMIC AGGRESSOR released two demos ("Bloody Ceremonial" in 1989 and "Resurrection" in 1991) and then broke up. In 2007 they reunited to play a couple of festivals in Chile and a year later, the "Rise Of The Ancient Ones" demo compilation was released through Hells Headbangers. In 2013 the band’s first new recordings appeared on the "Blind Servants" split 7" with DEATH YELL, followed by the "Live Ceremonial" live CD on Rawforce Records.
