In 2011, a young man left Istanbul and moved to Germany, Hamburg to be precise. The name of this young man is Onur Burgaz, and in Turkey, he played bass for the quite well known Black Metal band MORIBUND OBLIVION and the Prog Metal band ALTONA. His plans for a project of his own never really happened, due to lack of time, even though the music was already done and even recorded. But now, after moving to Germany, he finally started this band of his own. The name of the band is COAGULATION, where Onur is responsible for all the music, including the drum programming. Only the vocal duties were taken over by Christoph Madarasz from IRATE ARCHITECT. The first sign of life (or death) is this EP here, entitled “In A World Of Flesh And Blood”. And the four rather short songs (plus one intro) are a fine first feast for all you lovers of the brutal. But it’s not just brutal – Onur really knows not just how to play his instruments, but also how to use his technical abilities to bring a lot of variation into the songs. And he definitely can not deny that he’s a bass player in the first place, for lots of the technical pieces of skill are done with the bass. Therefore, sometimes bits and pieces even remind of later PESTILENCE offerings. Take the very cool smasher ‘The Gates Of Death’ as a perfect example and the finest song on “In A World Of Flesh And Blood”. But also ‘Rotten Requiem’, with some classic Thrash influences in the riffing, is a killer as well. This mix of simply brutal Death Metal and highest musical technique makes COAGULATION stick out of the masses. The fine artwork and layout of ArtWars Media Design round up this EP, a 12” vinyl would look great for sure. So, if you want to find something special in the heap of current music, you won’t do too wrong to check COAGULATION out at: www.facebook.com/coagulationband or www.coagulationband.com. And if you’re running a label: they are still looking…
