TEMPLE OF DREAD is back in the ring this 2026 with this new album called “Dreadspawn Dominion”, that, as they did in their previous releases, preserves that classic line of their origins and that always tried to mark its sound in the same grounds of the style of bands like DEATH or MORGOTH (natural influences of the band). They wanted to adhere to that school and I think they did it very well, with honors. Listening to them album by album, it is easy to identify that this was their intention. But this does not mean they were not capable of being themselves and relocating the essence of that sound from those pioneering bands into a more modern era. To go through their discography is to walk the path toward that very definition. A path that was perfected, polished and refined up to this “Dreadspawn Dominion”. Naturally, the band members (experienced and well-known in the scene) have made their contributions and have brought all that musical, lyrical and conceptual background. Jens Finger, Jörg Uken, or Markus Bünnemeyer are all seals of quality for any band, so here in TEMPLE OF DREAD there has been no exception. And to speak of “Dreadspawn Dominion” is to speak of the most mature stage of the band. In which all that background is ejected in a majestic way. To me, it seems like an album that brings no surprises. Quite the opposite. It is an album that expresses exactly what anyone who knows the band would have expected from them this year. A curatorship of their very own style. TEMPLE OF DREAD is a coherent, serious, mature band and without a doubt, one of the best representatives of that classic Death Metal school from the mid ’80s that aroused so much passion. It is only seven years since they came to light, but they have been enough to earn a place and a name in the global scene and a band from which the continuity of that legacy is expected, of a type of Death Metal that in many parts of the world became the standard that many wanted to follow. Excellent work by these Teutons. More information here: www.facebook.com/templeofdread, www.facebook.com/testimonyrecords
