After a somewhat useless intro here we have one of the many interesting newcomers of the German Metal scene called COMMON GRAVE. I may label them like that since this is only their second album eventhough they have been around for quite a while. Being an everything-self-released type of band sometimes can be tough but listening to COMMON GRAVE’s output I think I realized the reason why. It is not that they are bad or anything like that, it’s just that maybe that “spark” that makes any label feel attracted to a band is not present here. Sure their brand of contemporary US styled Death Metal is good to bang your head to, but it feels like originality has been kind of put aside a little bit. It’s really easy to find zillions of bands playing what COMMONG GRAVE does with easily equal or better results and that I think is the weakest aspect of the release. Sonically speaking you couldn’t find any loose end here, that proves that you don’t need a huge budget in order to achieve a quality production like the one COMMON GRAVE crafted. All of this complemented by a flawless execution and tight musicanship makes this release a pretty good but easily forgetable experience. Contact them at: www.commongrave.de
