This promo is quite a strange surprise, which brought many questions to yours truly’s mind. Why making a recording of CHAINSAW tracks under COMMUNION’s moniker? Why instrumental? Is there still anyone on Earth who buys CD-Rs? Why did DeathMessiah even stop the activity of CHAINSAW and formed a much less interesting band that is COMMUNION? Last but not least – is that stupid CRUSH THE ATHEISM slogan even supposed to be taken seriously, or is that just a bad joke? Either way, worry not – this rehearsal recording is actually a nice surprise – it is recorded rather decently, very well executed and has a great live feel of an actual band playing together. If this is a hint that more CHAINSAW stuff is to be expected and it will no longer be a 1-man project but a full line-up’s effort, then there is something really good to be expected. So does anyone really need a CD-R with an instrumental recording of tracks that are available on CHAINSAW’s great album? Probably not, unless you are a die hard fan.
