In the United States there are two and a half records, which are considered to be the hottest shit existing under the sun at the moment. We have “War Remains”, the third full-length album of ENFORCED from Richmond, Virginia. There is also a debut EP called “Maniac” by FUGITIVE, a four piece from Texas and not far from them CREEPING DEATH with their second full-length recording. All of those gangs into rough and extreme sound between Death and Thrash Metal have one thing in common: their roots are lying deep in the DIY and Hardcore scene. That leads to the hearable fact, that they do things refreshingly different than others. CREEPING DEATH present a style of Death Metal, which is not only inspired by the genre itself. Right from the start, they set off a musical firework made up of laid-back and biting old school Death Metal (‘Intestinal Wrap’ and ‘Remnants Of The Old Gods’), poisonous and from time to time Hardcore Thrash attacks and sluggish mid-tempo grooves that reappear again and again (‘Boundless Domain’, ‘The Pathian Shot’ and ‘Creators Turned Into Prey’, playing with cool OBITUARY riffs). Constant change is the essence of this album that makes it big. Distinctive riffs and catchy attacking parts, without feeling the need to break speed records, combined with an almost epic grandeur in some songs. And not only once the sound of CREEPING DEATH reminds of the mighty BOLT THROWER (‘Cursed’ and ‘Looming’). This is mixed with melodic, almost Doom like suspense that alternate with the rough penetrating power of Hardcore Thrash. The latter on purpose, as the band intends to commemorate and paytribute the late Riley Gale of POWER TRIP as well as Wade Allison of IRON AGE, who were close friends of the band. Respect for this creative way of remembrance! This wild mixture results in nothing less than one of the albums of this year! I’m committed. www.facebook.com/creepingdeathtx, www.facebook.com/mnrkheavy
