Thrashy Death Metal outfit DEAD CONSPIRACY from Portland, Oregon, courtesy of Mike Abominator (vocals), Chris Carey and Jeff Taylor (guitars), Eric Dorsett (bass) and Eric A (drums), give us a bloodbath of riveting tracks on their second full-length "Dead Conspiracy". Plenty of demos, an EP and a compilation have preceded this album in a history of releases dating back to 1987. Years of abundant songwriting has molded DEAD CONSPRACY into a monstrosity of Metal mayhem. The opener ‘Blood Everywhere’ sets the tone for a very consistent, very upbeat, very Thrash infested album. The swirling guitars turn into a chug-chugging machine gun while the drums pound a steady rhythm. The vocals are part Thrash, part Death. ‘In The Wake Of The Butcher’ is a hovering, lingering manifesto of blistering proportions set to burn the place down. If Metalheads don’t get up and trample the peasants around them, something isn’t right. This is sheer fury at its best. ‘The Earth Rots In A Grave’ continues the psychotic madness. The guitars never, ever provide a break in this sweat-drenched offering. And then there’s ‘Cruelty Through Ripping Torture’… The title says it all. If I’ve learned anything by listening to this album, it’s that DEAD CONSPIRACY understand Metal. No sampling, no slowed down piano crap, no experimentation in a genre that demands they don’t… Just pure, unadulterated Thrash Metal godliness. And you won’t be hearing ‘Born Again Massacre’ at Sunday school at week’s end. ‘Crawling Dread’ is a slithering, creeping, repugnant little number that soon crushes us under its steel-toed boot. Actually, from beginning to end, DEAD CONSPIRACY kick us while we’re down and scrape our broken teeth off the concrete before stomping on us again. This is simply what we all ask for in a Metal album… fist-pumping, head banging, circle pit swaggering angst that never tires and never slows down.
