DEMENSEED
Growing Darkness
(self-financed)
20:02min

This EP, entitled "Growing Darkness", offers 20 minutes of Death Metal that’s not overtly technical yet still somewhat experimental. There are elements that certainly make it stand out. The vocals range from deep growls to banshee like screams, there are even so more atmospheric parts with clean guitars making the punch when distortion strikes feel that much powerful. It has to be said that the vocals sound very inhuman but still quite intelligible. Even the growls never sound like some demented muttering. To these ears the guitars and drums sound a bit thin, but it doesn’t spoil the overall impression. A word or two more about the guitars. Even though the guitar parts are quite simplistic, meaning you can easily follow then and hum along, DEMENSEED have a neat trick up their sleeve: the guitars will every now and then take off into parts unknown that is really hard to put into words, other than maybe atmospheric which is hard to define. It can easily catch you off guard and offers a nice surprise that makes you pay more attention to the music.
