What if early KREATOR and SADUS met together in a dark alley? I think the end result would probably end up sounding like DISARRAY. Hailing from Sweden and looking quite young for the quality of the material and also to be paying tribute to the bands mentioned above who got their start oh so many moons ago. As I listen to this, I also get “The Legacy” era of TESTAMENT in places. You will hear this mainly in the drumming and segments of the riffing. It definitely harkens to those days. The main difference is that vocalist Lucas has a distinct Mille tone and growl to his vocals with some of that aforementioned SADUS, with Lucas coming across as similar to vocalist Darren Travis in his higher-pitched register. Another fun part of the band and their songwriting is the use of the gang / shouted style vocals in some songs like ‘Bound To Kill’, ‘Psychosis’ and ‘Realize You’re Already Dead’. It for sure makes for a more interesting live interaction with the crowd. To also go over some other of my must-have bullet points, I can give a thumbs up to the production. It is bright and clear and all instruments come across even in the mix. Also props to the cover art, which is sort of a cross between Ed Repka and Dan Seagrave which is a plus / must-have for any true Metal aficionado. If you enjoy a more old school approach to Thrash Metal, you will not go wrong with this release. More information at: www.instagram.com/disarraybandofficial, www.facebook.com/jawbreakerrecords
