Fridays are for rancid blackened Death Metal, and this is what Polish ERUPTED EVIL is a purveyor of. This is the band’s first full length album, after releasing one demo in 2018. As written, blackened Death Metal, a solid mix of slowpaced killers and ripping bangers, the band is coming all around the genre with their aggressive shenanigans. It is a solid mix of old school Death Metal riffing, Black Metal settings and at times a good thrashiness and at other times a well dosed chaotic vortex, and some well placed subtle synth, that adds a lot to the overall atmosphere. The inspirations for this album is drawn from all over the palette, and there are traces from all over the Metal world, put together quite nicely, as such the music is quite simple, but again quite drawing, as there is some great hooking and raw riffs. Much of the riffing is inspired by the old Florida Death Metal scene, from the late 80s to the early 90s, early DEICIDE and ACHERON is to be found, the last band which also is hailed with the cover of ‘Ave Sathanas’ from their great debut album “Rites Of The Black Mass” from 1992. This could have been an early War Metal album from way back in time, some early blackened Death Metal that had been hidden somewhere obscure until now, though it is a new recording, with some quite nostalgic and great sounding brutal and raw Metal. I had to use a few listens to get into the universe of ERUPTED EVIL, though now they’ve hit my sweet spot, I am quite fond of this album, its brutality, its rawness, its staight forwardness, it’s just a quite good slap of brutality in these days!
