The Finnish duo’s third demo (the first on CD) offers well produced Black Metal that unites grimness, melancholic atmosphere and melodic feeling in three long songs. The natural pounding drum sound, varied and skilful guitar play, aggressive vocals and capturing song writing make "So Rose The Dreadful Ghost" a very professional and promising release. Although the CD has its fast moments (like in the opener ‘On The Wings Of Your Hatred’, it is mostly dominated by mid-tempo and slow passages that drag the listener into darkness and despair. I think anyone who has a faible for emotional haunting Scandinavian Black Metal should give IKUINEN KAAMOS a serious chance, talented and individual sounding newcomers!
