Usually I rather prefer doing only handpicked reviews as – without wanting to sound arrogant – my time and ears are too precious to be wasted on any of the generic noise or utter crap that is being thrown upon mankind in weekly, maybe even daily terms. Originally all INCAPACITATE band members come from the Philippines and nowadays live in Chicago however in contrast to their legendary country mates DEATH ANGEL who are of the same origin, these guys here suck quite a bit. Why? Well, using standard hardcorish Thrash Metal in the 80s Crossover vein (DRI, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER), spicing it up with some occasional blast beats and messing it all up with Grindcore vocals that sound like a way beyond rabid dog is at least in my humble and of course meaningless opinion a totally crappy idea. While I can find this kind of bellowed singing style funny in a band called CANINUS – because they have a real dog singing – I’m can’t help wondering all the time during this almost 39min long “opus” if this is a joke or not. In terms of energy and drive INCAPACITATE are easily a straight 8 out of 10 but in terms of musical class and thrashing finesse they are definitely not. Grindcore fans might enjoy this, I’d rather go over to my vinyl collection and pick some real, pure 80s Thrash Metal. And please don’t get back to me with stuff like “You need to give it another chance or you haven’t listened closely enough to our record”, I have and found it more awful with every other try.
