INEXORABLE
Sea Of Dead Consciousness
(Unholy Prophecies)

This is a truly impressive release of atmospheric, dark and blackened Death Metal, although I’m not sure if I completely understand it. The three own songs are very challenging, twisted, technical, brutal, chaotic and obscure compositions with hoarse demonic vocals. INEXORABLE creates a very unique, obscure and vicious atmosphere and this makes those Germans very interesting for fans of bands such as MITOCHONDRION, PORTAL, GRAVE MIASMA and the likes. “Sea Of Dead Consciousness” is a tape release and therefore consists of two sides. But in this case there are two very different sides. Side A contains three weird and brutal own compositions simply titled ‘I’, ‘II’ and ‘III’. Side B contains three cover songs: ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’ (MAYHEM), ‘I Feel Nothing’ (IMMOLATION) and ‘Black Magic Mushrooms’ (MYSTICUM). I have a problem with side B because I don’t like cover songs and I don’t like MAYHEM and MYSTICUM and I totally love ‘I Feel Nothing’. So in my humble opinion side B is totally superfluous. Although I have to admit that they did a good job with the IMMOLATION song. Anyway, side A is great and interesting enough to make this a must have if you are into the aforementioned bands. INEXORABLE is a very interesting band and we definitely should keep an eye on them. www.in-morte-sumus.de, www.facebook.com/pages/inexorable/513581785340017, www.unholyprophecies.com

INEXORABLE
Sea Of Dead Consciousness
(Godz Ov War Productions)

INEXORABLE is a project from Saxony in Germany and the guys are active since 2001 already. "Sea Of Dead Consciousness" is their third EP and gets now re-released by Godz Ov War Productions. The guys play a very unique and ambient mixture of Death and Black Metal but very difficult to dig. The four presented tracks are hard to describe. ‘I’ is brutal blackened Death Metal crossing the boarders between Death and Black Metal. Very dark and chaotic stuff with grim vocals and a freezing and menacing atmosphere. ‘II’ starts with some weird sounding riffs before a dark melancholic atmosphere spreads real darkness while ‘III’ totally turns into total misanthropic darkness again. The CD bonus track ‘IV’ is an obscure sound construction turning into pure chaotic armageddon. The remaining three tracks are cover tunes of MAYHEM, IMMOLATION and MYSTICUM. Well chosen, as these three bands surely had a big impact on the the band’s current unique sound. Also well done but not groundbreaking. The bands own compositions are very interesting, as the guys created a unique atmosphere and definitely no music which is easy to get into. But once you have managed this, a hellish little world opens up. Fans of the mentioned bands but also fans of GRAVE MIASMA or PORTAL should check this interesting material.
