Death Syndrome - The Second Step To Hell

To be honest: I’m neither an expert as far as Black Metal is concerned, nor a big Black Metal enthusiast. And INGLORIOUS from Tarnów, Poland will not change the latter. The EP "Death Syndrome – The Second Step To Hell", being their first output after a demo, sounds too uninspired to my ears, partly too polished and overall too replaceable. Don’t get me wrong – INGLORIUS are not untalented, they know how to play trve Black Metal – it is just the fact that there are no moments to make me scream out in joy, not even moments which are really remarkable. The first three songs (disregarding the short intro here) are even much too clean to my ears – they miss the rawness I love about DARKTHRONE, for example. Looks like INGLORIOUS strive for the perfect sound, but this might be too perfect. The last three tracks sound different, more raw and unpolished, looks like they are taken from their demo "…And Our Ashes Be The Symbols Of The Beginning And The End", released in 2007. Therefore I like these songs a little better, but they do also not really convince me. Maybe Black Metal junkies will like these Polish guys, they should check out: www.facebook.com/pages/inglorious/197103367018551 or the label site: www.myspace.com/darkzonepl
