KWADE DROES

The Dutch KWADE DROES is a band in the roster of Ván Records that always flies under the radar, including mine. And their recent album “Met Onoprechte Deelneming” is a good proof why it is that way. The interpretation of Black Metal from KWADE DROES surely will not appeal to any fan of the genre, especially to the purists. To be honest, it is sometimes hard to even file the songs on “Met Onoprechte Deelneming” as Black Metal instead of Experimental or Avant-garde. At least I can state that KWADE DROES are at the same time absolutely unique and (to my ears) mainly unbearable. To get a vague idea of how this album sounds, I appeal to your imagination. Think of early lo-fi DARKTHRONE combined with a stoned Free Jazz ensemble, strange and dissonant noises, loops, samples and chaotic breaks. Add some strange, cracking vocals and (obviously) human noises that remind of bursting animals. If that appeals to you, you might check out KWADE DROES at https://kwadedroes.bandcamp.com or visit their label: www.van-records.com
