MAJESTY OF THE CRIMSON MOON
The Whispering Of The Fullmoon
(Misanthrophia Discos)
30:21min

MAJESTY OF THE CRIMSON MOON was formed in Canada, their identity is unknown and so is their formation year. However, one thing is certain, they are playing Black Meal and “The Whispering Of The Fullmoon” was their debut album released independently in 2022 in digital format. Later it was released on cassette and 12-inch vinyl by the label His Wounds. In 2023 Misanthrophia Discos reissued this record on CD with a remastered version. Although released as full-length, this record contains only two tracks devoid of any names. Track # 1 is eleven minutes long, and # 2 is a little under nineteen minutes long. The sound can be described as low-fi Black Metal where floating tremolo riffs and tempo changes come on repeat. With the dissonant organ-like keyboard the songs have no conventional structure but atmospherically they give the feeling of another world. It’s almost like what we feel while looking at the captivating presence of the moon and its movements. The loud screams that echo along with the paranoid melodies are also powerful along the way and that can make you lose your sense of balance. The second track especially gives that sense of melancholy and an unexplained sense of uneasiness with the euphoric keyboard arrangement that lasts forever. Although we do not know anything about the identity of the person responsible for the arrangements, it’s assured the mind behind this highly abstract record is fascinated by the madness of the moon. This should attract not only the old school Black Metal fans but also the people who like general Post Black Metal.
