MIGHTY MAGAZINE
Issue # 15
(24 pages, A4, printed, in English)

I’m not sure if the return of Denmark’s MIGHTY MAGAZINE was really a good decision. I mean, both editors are doing such a great job with their label (Mighty Music) that I don’t get the point why they additionally try to release a magazine that has not too much of interest to offer anymore these days. Even though issue #15 is pro-printed on glossy paper and comes with a full colour cover (LOCK UP) and free 19-track compilation CD, to me the whole project is heavily lacking in the necessary excitement and dedication. Out of the 24 pages only 12 really feature interviews and reviews (the rest is filled with ads). And even this rather small content is kinda controversial as the selected artists not necessarily appeal to a specific type of reader. You know, there’s MY DYING BRIDE next to DEVIN TOWNSEND and then there’s LOCK UP followed by MERCENARY (just to give you an idea). The good thing about this issue is the way the 42 reviews were written though. It’s more than obvious that both editors are pretty pissed about most of the stuff they got their hands on, which results in rather harsh words towards bands that are usually praised from many other magazines. But I doubt that this is enough to keep a magazine going, which you need to pay for.
