NECROCULT
For Thine Is The Kingdom, And The Power, And The Glory

This French covenant was concluded already in 1994 as CRUCIFIX, celebrating a Thrash / Death solemnity. In 1997 they added a new member, who brought a second voice and more Black Metal influences into the project. Leading to a name change into: NECROCULT. They have yet released two full length records, in 2003 the self-titled “Necrocult” as well as the 2015 released “For Thine Is The Kingdom, And The Power, And The Glory”. Not much for 22 years of existence. But even more interesting when a band took their time and releases a record whenever they believe it’s the right record and the right time. Which makes me look at it maybe a bit more critical because I want to understand what took them so long. By what I get, this record could have been easily released in 1994. The Black Metal elements are as raw and cold as the early Norwegian onslaughts. Bearing atmospheric and melodic elements fuse into a stream of discomfort. Enjoyable discomfort. Obscure and evil coldness is the striking framework on this release, in where mortal Death Metal elements indwell. The vocals switch or ally both ghastly, thin and guttural as well as deeply, spaciousness and monstrous. Harmonizing with each other perfectly. If one can call it that way. NECROCULT are mastering it excellent to blur the lines in between the pentacle where they raise this demon. The main reason is the organic sounding production. Unagitated leading drums, played by someone who knows when and when not to tighten the reins. Providing the guitars and vocals ample space to evolve entirely. This is what makes the record ripened and mature. With “For Thine Is The Kingdom, And The Power, And The Glory” NECROLUST spawn a malicious and highly entertaining record. Hopefully it doesn’t take them too long for the next one. Chute sur les genoux : www.facebook.com/necrocult.fr, www.satanath.com
