Issue # 1
(52 pages, A5, printed, written in German)
It is great to see that in these days of webzines and weblogs there still are guys willing to take the financial risk and work to release a print zine! Here we have the first issue of NOISE POLLUTION, a zine dedicated to brutal slam Death Metal exclusively, so you won’t get any old school acts here but pure contemporary brutality. The format is quite cool: the zine is in A5 oblong format, printed on glossy paper and featuring a colour cover. Everything is nicely and professionally layouted (including a photo collage on page two, nice) and hence easy to read… some more band logos to accompany the pics and interviews would be nice, I think. By the way – you won’t find a single record review in here because editor Markus simply doesn’t have the nerves for this tedious work (understandable, I must say, hehehe) as he explains in the foreword. Instead, you get reviews of several fanzines! A bit unusual but why not?! Concerning interviews there are chats with OFSIKI, INFESTED, COCK AND BALL TORTURE (also a Japan tour diary!), MANKOLOVER, GUTTURAL SECRETE, DEGRADE, FLESH RIPPER, MISERY INDEX, MUCOPUS, RESURRECTED, INHERIT DISEASE and, the only "big" name here, CANNIBAL CORPSE. Even though the featured acts are not exactly what I listen to on a daily basis, this little rag is definitely a cool newcomer in the German zine scene (remember, it is written in German only) and surely recommendable if you dig LEPROZINE, for example. If that sounds interesting to you, just send measly 3,50 Euro (p&p included) to: Markus Groß, Pfingstweide 21, 34246 Velmar. You may also drop a line to: kalaazar@gmx.de
