Time And Tide

Our good ol’ CORPORATION follows the trail blazed by its predecessor album “Fallout” through the jungle of the underground. The five-piece band, based in Bremen, rages no less rudely on “Time And Tide”, even the sound of the album appears to be almost the same. But yet something is different. The subtle details in the background carry more weight. There is a bassline slapping around on ‘Dead Of Night’. Small melodies provide variety in the interplay between breaks and tempo changes and the many parts in which Leif screams everything into the ground in parallel with the drum beat. For example, on ‘Pound Of Flesh’, ‘To The Hilt’ or the title-track. The latter thrives on the versatility that it can develop in the band’s own brutality. With ‘Sorcerer’ and ‘Western Apocalypse’, it is one of the most memorable tracks on the record. In between are roughly chopped numbers like ‘Crushed’ with nasty old SEPULTURA riffs. ‘Pound Of Flesh’ and ‘Krokodil’ are also worth to be mentioned here. The latter is a minute and a half of super-cool, crusted-down noise about a not-so-super-cool drug. The full broadside of emotions, right at nose level, comes with ‘For All The Wrong Reasons’: an extreme aggressive rush of riffs, screaming and drums plus an ethereal groove part. Even more intense is ‘Crisis’, where bassist Ulf screams manically and, in his frenzy, thrashes around as if there wasn’t future left. Crass, but powerful chunks of music! Doubtless, this album needs to find its way into every goodie-noises-collection.
