So, how old school are you? Do you miss the days of prime ICED EARTH and bands like MANOWAR and CAGE? Well folks, I have got some good news for you all. Now maybe I haven’t actually been paying attention, but this band has completely flown under my radar. I have not heard of a band sounding like this in quite a long time. I’m sure there are bands like this out there, but they do bring about a welcome feeling for the days of yore. They only came into existence in 2019 and have two full LPs to their credit and damn, I must say they are both quite good. The band fully leans into its cultural heritage with much of the lyrical stance, dealing with ancient mythology and all the mythos and splendor associated with it. Musically they are just as dynamic. Do you remember listening to those early MANOWAR albums and raising your fist and shouting along to songs like ‘Fighting The World’ or ‘Kings Of Metal’? How about the Matt Barlow era of ICED EARTH and those releases? TRIUMPHER has that all covered. Vocalist Mars Triumph has a multi-faceted voice, you will hear all the above-mentioned bands, singers and maybe even touches of SANCTUARY and ARMORED SAINT. Above I mentioned both albums are good, but I will give more of a tip of the hat to this album. The production is a bit better, the songwriting is stepped up and much more dynamic and punchy. There is not too much to complain about and I could go on about how they evoke memories of me as a young Metal dude, hearing this genre for the first time and being the gateway to my world of Metal.
