DERANGED will enter a small local recording studio this weekend to "cut a demo" for all of the songs that will be featured on the next full length album (as announced earlier to be titled "The Red Light Murder Case"). Rikard Wermén (drums) comments: "It’ll just be a quick and pretty rough recording. Basically something for Martin (vocals) and I to have when working on the lyrics… There’s all in all 10 tracks and as it feels now, they are all strong and will most likely end up on the CD." Further on, the band plans to do some serious touring later this year to support the release of "The Red Light Murder Case". The release date is set for November on Regain Records.

San Francisco’s Death Metal legend POSSESSED, featuring original vocalist Jeff Becerra as well as members of SADISTIC INTENT is confirmed to play this year’s Wacken Festival! Here’s what SADISTIC INTENT guitarist Rick Cortez just told us: "Jeff Becerra chose us to do Possessed with him! We’ve been rehearsing songs from "Seven Churches", "Beyond The Gates" and "The Eyes Of Horror"! The people from the Wacken fest got in contact and invited us to appear at this year’s event! We’ve already accepted their offer so it’s pretty much official, Possessed is going to do one exclusive show for Wacken! This will be the only show for Possessed in Europe, at least for now. As far as Sadistic Intent, we are trying to organize a show in Germany (preferably nearby the Wacken) the day after the fest which is a Sunday. I already spoke with Wannes of Pentacle and they would like to do the gig with us. I am waiting for the booking agent to get back to me regarding this Sadistic Intent show. If it does happen, it will be the only Sadistic Intent show in Europe for now as well."

MELEKTAUS have just recorded a new rehearsal at Sade Studios to offer an advance of their new album, which will be entitled "Hymns Of Transformation". The new songs have certain rhythmic elements that Melektaus had not exploited before, all that accompanied by the dose of brutality and speed of which they are faithful followers. The song titles are: ‘N.O.X. (The Night Of Pan)’ and ‘The Way Of Inner Voice’. The songs are available on the band’s MySpace site www.myspace.com/melektauschile.

HELRUNAR have entered Klangschmiede Studio E to record the follow-up to their album "Frostnacht" (2005). Their new work, to be entitled "Baldr Ok Íss", is bound to surpass its predecessor in terms of variability and sheer force. "The new records contains everything from dark, brutal Black Metal in the early Norwegian tradition to epic songs in the vein of Bathory, from rocking mid-tempo to delicate, fragile acoustic pieces and influences from archaic Norse folklore", Skald Draugir proudly puts on record. One of the new tracks already has gained a special importance for HELRUNAR: ‘Schwarzer Frost.’ "This song, sound and lyrics and all, is nothing less than a hymn to the original Norwegian Black Metal", the band’s vocalist and lyricist enthuses. "In an abstract way, the lyrics describe the emotions and experiences that, to us, were connected to the discovery of this kind of music back then." "Baldr Ok Íss" is scheduled for release via Lupus Lounge in autumn 2007.

Swedish Thrashers LETHAL added a 34 minutes long livevideo (650 MB) of their gig "Live At House Of Metal" to their website www.lethal.info.se. The quality of this recording is amazingly good, so those of you who know their sold out 7"EP "Deliverance" through Blood Harvest Records (see review in the review-section) should take this opportunity. Others should have a look as this is a free chance to hear and see a great newcomer playing old school Thrash Metal the way it should be.

Reunited 80s Thrash band ROTTING CORPSE (www.rottingcorpse.net) whose original line up included current SOLITUDE AETURNUS founder John Perez and former DEATH touring guitarist / roadie Walter Trachsler will play their special appearance show at the Donnapalooza Breast Cancer Benefit on April 28, 2007 at the Lone Star Country Club in Coppell, Texas without Trachsler, an original member of the Texas Thrash unit. To make up for Trachler’s absence, GAMMACIDE guitarists Rick Perry and Scott Shelby along with RIGOR MORTIS / TEXAS METAL ALLIANCE vocalist Bruce Corbitt will step up to the plate and fill in for the missing Trachsler. This will be the first time Trachsler has missed a ROTTING CORPSE show in the band’s history and the current members refer to this one time event as the "Watts Without Walt" show. His absence is due to prior commitments with his tour bus company before the band was asked to make a special appearance at the benefit. Donnapalooza is a music event that has been created and promoted by Metal sisters in the Dallas scene to help one of their own that has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Various Dallas based bands have donated their services and KNON’s Thrashing Alan of Hard Time Radio has signed on to emcee the event. Former PESTILENCE / ASPHYX singer Martin van Drunen, ex – HOUWITSER bass player Theo van Eekelen, GOREFEST drummer Ed Warby and both THANATOS guitarists Paul Baayens and Stephan Gebédi have joined forces in a new act called HAIL OF BULLETS. Their mutual love for old school Death Metal bands like Autopsy, Bolt Thrower and Massacre resulted in the idea to form a band together. They’ve already written quite a few songs and hope to record a demo / promo CD in June / July 2007. We’ll keep you posted!

Talking of Martin van Drunen… besides HAIL OF BULLETS and DEATH BY DAWN he’s also part of the reformed ASPHYX. The band is already confirmed to play this year’s Party.San Festival. Unfortunately though, guitarist Eric Daniels won’t be part of it, since he lost his feeling for this kind of music and therefore sold all his equipment. He lives a new and different life now. So, ASPHYX 2007 consist of: Martin van Drunen – vocals, Wannes Gubbels (PENTACLE / SOULBURN) – bass / vocals, Paul Baayens – guitar and Bob Bagchus – drums.
