Spanish Doom / Death Metallers ONIROPHAGUS will release their second full length "Endarkenment (Illumination Through Putrefaction)" on February 19, 2019 through Xtreem Music. The band went through some line-up changes since their first album "Prehuman" (2013) but according to their label "still managed to retain the essence of their sound, turning it even heavier and darker." Italy’s technical brutal Death Metallers HOUR OF PENANCE have been signed by Agonia Records. The band is currently on the final lap of writing songs for the as yet untitled album, which is set for a 2019 release. Zurich, Switzerland based TRIUMPH OF DEATH will be playing HELLHAMMER’s music on stage in 2019. The band, that is supposed to be a very respectful and authentic tribute to HELLHAMMER, was founded by former HELLHAMMER / CELTIC FROST (and current TRIPTYKON, NIRYTH) member Tom Gabriel Warrior (vocals / guitar). The line-up is completed by Mia Wallace (NIRYTH, THE TRUE ENDLESS, KIRLIAN CAMERA) – bass, Michael Zech (SECRETS OF THE MOON, ODEM ARCARUM) – guitar / vocals and Alessandro Comerio (FORGOTTEN TOMB, THE TRUE ENDLESS, HIEMS) – drums. TRIUMPH OF DEATH will only play a few selected concerts and apart from considerations regarding the release of an occasional live EP, no new music will be recorded. An appearance at 2019’s edition of Hellfest (June 21, 2019 in Clisson, France) is already confirmed. More dates to follow.
To celebrate the band’s 35th anniversary Memento Mori will release a 2 CD compilation from Dutch Death / Thrashers THANATOS next year. It will feature the following recordings: "Speed Kills" (Demo 1984), "Rebirth" (Demo 1986), "The Day Before Tomorrow…" (Demo 1987), "Omnicoitor" (Demo 1989), "Unreleased Live Tape" (1985), "Pre-production Tape" (1991) and 2 old re-recorded songs (including a guest appearance from original 1984 band members). All songs have been digitalized from the original sources and were newly mastered. The cover art will be created by Mörtuus. The release date has been set for April 22, 2019. On January 18, 2019 Nuclear Blast Records will release the new MALEVOLENT CREATION album "The 13th Beast". Norwegian Black Metallers RAGNAROK have entered Sweden’s Endarker Studio (with Devo of MARDUK once again) to record their ninth, as yet untitled, full-length album. On November 10, 2018 Old Temple will re-release "Darkside", the fourth full length from CHRIST AGONY from 1997. This new edition will come with an additional CD entitled "Darkness" which features nine bonus tracks (partly re-recorded, re-constructed and recovered material). Malta’s Death Metallers BEHEADED will be entering Mk2 Recording Studio in December to record the successor to their "Beast Incarnate" full length from 2017. The mixing and mastering will be handled once again by Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Productions and the artwork will be created by Daemorph Art. The album will be released via Agonia Records in mid 2019, followed by an extensive European tour (including a number of major festivals). The title will be announced at a later stage. Vocalist Frank Calleja commented on the album as follows: ”We have recorded demos for 8/9 songs which we have shortlisted for this album, which stylistically will follow in the footsteps of "Beast Incarnate". We have had no line-up changes since 2015; that means we were able to allow ourselves to focus more on the songwriting as a unit, bringing in a stronger contribution from the newer members."
