According to a press release “the band will explore the Ocean depths to discover the sea spirits of Japanese folklore. Yokai and Oni (precisely spirits and demons of the Land of the Rising Sun) will make their appearance in a story that wants to probe the most ancestral and mysterious aspects of the Oceans.” Bass player Adres issued the following additional comments about it: “For us the sound arts and the visual arts are inextricably linked, so this time, looking towards distant shores, it all began with two ancient Japanese paintings: “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” and “Takiyasha the Witch and the Skeleton Spectre”. On the one hand the ancestral fury of the sea, and on the other the folklore of the Land of the Rising Sun with its spirits, demons and ghosts. The band issued the following statement: “We are very thrilled to present our second full-length, “Unveiling The Threshold”, which holds the most brutal and in-your-face material composed by SKELETHAL to this day. On this second album, we were able to develop our Death Metal in a more efficient way, incorporating a second soloist, faster relentless drums, and allowing the songs to reach the ferocious grounds of early Grindcore while still in the realm of Swedish Death Metal. Overall, the songwriting process has been more personal and included a greater number of influences. IMMOLATION (and ex – GOREAPHOBIA) guitarist Alex Bouks has formed a Dark Avantgarde Metal band together with former GOREAPHOBIA members Henny Piotrowski (guitars) and Jake G (vocals) as well as multi-instrumentalist Lance Walter (drums, bass, lead guitar). The band is called SHADOWS and has already signed a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to release their debut EP in 2021.
