I have been following the sick and twisted activities of the Devil himself since the release of their debut album in 2002. But things have changed quite a lot lately. This band which is the brainchild of PAGAN RITES and AUTOPSY TORMENT member (and formerly of TRISTITIA) started as a Heavy Metal band with Black Metal touches, which sounded in the end like a more melodic early BATHORY or VENOM, but with a good sense of humor. This time, the devil has changed… it is now more a blackened Doom Metal band with some Heavy Metal passages, and if one reads the title, there are the signs in there. It is not that all songs are slow Doom Metal compositions, as the Heavy Metal spirit is there. Also Devil Lee Rot (the main band member!) shows a use of a quite varied vocals style, from Gothic like ones (kind of like MOONSPELL) the usual growls (in a more Black Metal orientated style) and many more that are used depending on the mood of the songs. I can sense more than some touches of old Italian bands like DEATH SS as an influence in the band. If you have heard the band before, be in for a surprise as the style change is quite noticeable. For once, I do prefer the more Heavy Metal sound of the early releases, but some of the more Doom and Occult orientated Metal fans, will probably dig (the corpse) of this one. www.myspace.com/dlrmetal, http://ibdclabel666.bigcartel.com
