This is the second album of this Polish band that is completely done in their native language. First impression is that it possesses a fantastic production, with everything at the right level, and a musical execution that calls for experienced performers. The music itself is based on Black Metal, but I can also hear many obscure Death Metal touches… references to their country mates of BEHEMOTH, especially in the sound around the “Satanica” album. A very special mention must be done to the vocalist, who uses a wide variety of vocals giving the music a more open dimension, thus making the music more enjoyable, even using some semi-clean vocals, but done with a lot of class and in the right amount and time. There is also some very old school obscure Thrash influences like it can be heard in ‘Próg’, which at times reminded me of the atmosphere of the first INFERNÄL MÄJESTY album. At times the band reminds me of more recent Icelandic Black Metal bands in style and execution, but always keeping a very personal touch. I also must mention the incredible drumming, and as a matter of fact, the whole instrumention is done in the highest standards. This is the kind of album that grows with every listen and where the band uses any resources and musical influences to achieve their vision. And for those speed freaks, believe me when I say that this band shines while ‘laying at high speed, but the flow when doing more mid tempo is just brilliant. They have this epic feeling constructed around very intelligent riffs, and they are able to play in different speeds in a blink of an eye, combined with the variety of vocals, and we have a band that although mixing many styles, is able to create something that sounds fresh and powerful. A contender for album of the year in my book. www.facebook.com/angrrsth, www.facebook.com/godzovwarproductions
