Can you imagine early CRADLE OF FILTH (vocals) combined with pretty primitive Nordic Black Metal in the old BURZUM, DARKTHRONE, GORGOROTH vein musically? Well, then you have a good idea what a pretty fine looking gal from Finland named Possessed Demoness and session drummer Mental Penetrator unleash on their debut “Cold”. It’s raw and sickened suicidal Black Metal to the bone which impresses or sucks – depending on your opinion on Dani Filth – by Possessed Demoness’ insane shrieks and howls in best high-pitch COF-tradition. I think it’s horrible! At times the vocals switch to a bit more clean female singing which is solid but nothing extraordinary and I can’t get rid of the fear of damaging my ears with every minute I continue listening to this. Probably, most of you will agree with me that the field of raw Black Metal is as overcrowded as Wacken festival during a MAIDEN show and despite their unusual vocals ANGUISHED unfortunately belong to a vast array of bands below the mediocre with standard riffs, standard song structures, standard everything.
