ARSENIC from Switzerland is a side-project featuring members of PIGSKIN and KILLFLEX. After a 4 track demo and a 3 track EP these guys are presenting us their first full length recording "Pieces Of A Decade" now. On the new 11 songs they are playing an energetic intersection of Modern Metal, Thrash Metal, Hardcore and a little bit of Death Metal. Very well played and recorded. The guys are skilled musicians and masters of their trade and the production is state of the art and straight in your face. Nothing for members of the scene police. But for musically open minded and adventuresome people a nice to have recording. For just being a side-project "Pieces Of A Decade" sounds very professional and can easily convince the listener. On the 2nd track ‘Picture’ they brought in a saxophone for the ultimate confusion. Well done guys. I’m a big fan of such experiments. Bands like QUEENSRYCHE, SCHWEISSER or AMORPHIS also did this in the past successfully. On the other hand you have enough through the wall Thrashers like ‘Xenomorph’ or ‘Complex’ for example. One of the highlights is the final track ‘The Future Ends Here’ that shows a huge melody understanding by the musicians and features a hidden chillout part at the very end. Variety is a big plus on "Pieces Of A Decade", just in case you like it. If so, go and check them out, because they are worth it. Swiss clockwork… a quality characteristic… you got it? www.arsenicmetal.bandcamp.com, www.myspace.com/arsenictoxic
