I don’t know if it is where I am in life but I enjoy EPs and / or albums with a 30 minutes or less runtime. Get in, get out, show me what you got and then I can get on with my life. Ha ha, I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be so pessimistic at the onset. So I am delving into BONE WEAPON, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and they bring to the table heavy doses of CIANIDE and CARCINOID. They also have that AUTOPSY vibe, but one thing that is a bit different here is a bit of a creepy, sorta chaotic tone about them. Chaotic in sentiment and not has in speed. Listen to about ¾ of the way into track # 3, ‘Death Of Lurking Eyes’ and take in the moans and screams which give off an eerie atmosphere to the track. Heavy Death / Doom is what you can expect. There is an underlying sense of dread in all of the three tracks. One of the members is also in the fellow Philly band BLOOD SPORE, who are very similar in sound and atmosphere. Although they may be a bit more blackish in delivery. The production is clear and with this style of Doom / Death, the overall delivery is just one big wallop of murkiness. Not too much distinction in sound. Even the vocalist lends to the slightly monotone delivery.
