What is going on today? This is the second Industrial Metal band on my radar and frankly, BORGNE are brand new to me, even though they seem to have been releasing music from 1998? Granted, this is on me because Industrial Metal isn’t my go to on any given day. I’ve picked these albums up today out of sheer curiosity and I’m absolutely blown away by what I’m listening to today. First VERSATILE and now BORGNE both from Switzerland. Is there a secret Industrial culture in Switzerland that I need to know of? I’m thinking skirting on edges of BDSM and Cyberpunk. Once again, my senses are challenged by the absolute barrage of rhythm attack on this record. BORGNE are an unforgiving bunch, the drums feel like a mortal attack in a battle. To me honestly, it got a little out of hand, but when I step back to look at the overall sound of the band, that deathly drumming just fits in. The synth is just heavenly! Absolutely on point on every single track, it provides a dense, yet rich layer of satisfying comfort in the chaos of the band’s sound. Well, be that as it may, the guitar solos jump out from darkness to deliver a rich, sonic message filled with melody and thoughtfulness. Honestly, what is going on here? Literally, everything sounds perfect. I’m strangely drawn to this music and I want to know more, I want to know more about the band and if they have any videos out there that adds in more context to their vision? Wow, I am so glad I asked my editor for these albums, not only have they literally kicked open my horizons of enjoying Metal music, they’ve also managed to showcase the genre in a brand new light to me. To my own surprise, I’m enjoying this a lot more than what I had anticipated. I wish the album was about 45 minutes though, as it is usually what I can tolerate in a full length these days. www.facebook.com/borgneblackmetal, www.facebook.com/ladloproductions
