Execute The Innocent

I have to admit that I somehow have neglected to have a closer look at the scene of our Austrian neighbours for quite a while. Even some excellent squads popped up in other Metal genres throughout the years it can’t be denied that the Death Metal scene has remained quite bloodless since the glory days of PUNGENT STENCH, MIASMA or DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA. But it seems that this shortfall will be corrected with the release of "Execute The Innocent". BREWED AND CANNED, who have already been active since 1998, are by far the best offering from Austria when it comes to brutal and intense Metal of Death. The Vienna based five piece banned ten tracks of sheer brutality on CD which are a real pleasure to listen to. Technical on a remarkable level this horde neither makes any compromises nor taking any prisoners. The album is a total blast from the beginning to the end. A precisely executed riff massacre of skilled guitar work, combined with merciless, massive drumming and a brutal voice filled with hatred and straight from Hell – these are the delicious ingredients you will get here. It’s fast and groovy at the same time. The songwriting is enthralling and meets international standards. Thus the outfit doesn’t need to hide or be afraid of the big names of the international scene. Nope! These guys are on a par with their presumed idols. The production of their debut is quite powerful and can easily devastate your room within a few seconds when it’s played on the right volume. To sum it up: BREWED AND CANNED delivers an excellent album which should please every gourmet into brutal Metal music. Just have a listen to violent tracks like ‘Multiple Bone Injection’, ‘Killfuckfeed’ or ‘A Violent Maelstorm’ which provide the perfect sick stuff to wreck your neck. I guess you won’t hesitate to check this one out. Visit www.facebook.com/brewedandcanned for more info about the squad and their label at www.blacksmithrecords.eu to get the latest merchandise.
