Great Days Of Vengeance

This is musically absolutely not my cup of tea, as it’s simply too modern sounding for an old school Metalhead, but I gotta admit that I was still heavily impressed by the power, energy and aggression set free by this Swiss based five-piece. As far as I know, CATARACT basically emerged out of the Hardcore underground when they started out back in 1998, but could easily appeal to a lot of younger Metalheads today as well, because their musical mixture, which is being described as “THE HAUNTED and AT THE GATES mixing up with HATEBREED and ALL OUT WAR…” is so full of overall intensity, crushing riffs and a very fat production (courtesy of Alpha Omega Studios, Italy) that all those of you who like the newer wave of extreme Metal might as well be blown away by this 11 tracker pretty easily! “Great Days Of Vengeance” is already the band’s second full length album, following their “Golem” entitled debut (and a bunch of other releases, such as demo, 7″, MCD etc.), and offers really big potential and a solid writing / playing experience. It’s just that I personally don’t listen to this type of stuff, so don’t expect any further, unqualified statements from here… If I managed to get you interested nevertheless, just check out one of the following websites in order to find out all further info on the band: www.lifeforcerecords.com, www.cataract.ch
