CHAOS SYNOPSIS

Back in the late 80s, Brazil had a run of great Metal bands that basically, delivered some of the best albums in almost all genres. But Brazil had a thing for Thrash Metal. Brutal, straight, in your face fast and aggressive Thrash Metal. Sadly, it seems that after that time, the genre itself was almost forgotten. Well, in the first decade of the XXI, just before the "Retro-Thrash" trend, CHAOS SYNOPSIS, released their first demo tape, "Garden Of Forgotten Shadows". And it showcases that exact same genre I was talking about. Some great Thrash Metal, clearly influenced by some classic band: ATOMIC AGGRESSOR. I really tend to compare CHAOS SYNOPSIS with ATOMIC AGGRESSOR, since they do have that same attack and attitude in their music. But there is some SEPULTURA "Schizophrenia" era influences here and there. Even some MUTILATOR brutality thrown in. The production is raw, yet clear and I think it helps the songs come through as they were intended to sound, without the over produced and saturated sound that plagues the scene nowadays. The drums are clear and punchy. I really like the bass drum sound. The snare is a weak, but audible. The guitars are too dry, but sharp and heavy. The bass guitar tone adds to the overall heavy tone of the guitars. The vocals are just some harsh mid-growl. Nothing too original, but sure they do fit in with the music. This is one demo and band that deserve support. If they keep doing music with the same attitude as they showed here, they are set for big things!
