I can remember times when each 2nd band, especially from Poland, was sounding like a MORBID ANGEL double and still was afraid to confess that. Time’s changing, and so we have CHAOTIC AEON from China (believe it or not, my first Death Metal experience with a Chinese band. Actually it is my first Metal experience with a Chinese band if I remember correct) which say in their biography that "they are heavily influenced by those Death Metal masters such as MORBID ANGEL, INCANTATION, IMMOLATION… They are also inspired by H. P. Lovecraft". Oookeyyyy, as I said, times are changing and these 2 guys who handle the business in CHAOTIC AEON fuckin’ rock. CHAOTIC AEON’s demo 2009 is definitely heavily influenced especially by MORBID ANGEL, let’s say MORBID ANGEL after "Domination" as they don’t cover the atmospheric stuff from their earlier releases and more the high technical stuff from the newer releases. Even the cover and the layout of the CD has a huge MORBID ANGEL – vibe. Besides the musical capabilities which are awesome I would like to mention that the vocals are the weakest point here, but together with the great technical guitar work and a fantastic heavy and clear, simply perfect production it doesn’t bother me at all. Honestly spoken, you don’t hear such a high quality production on a simple demo tape. I have to add that they use a drum machine on this demo but if you don’t know it you wouldn’t figure it out. With CHAOTIC AEON China put a huge flag on my Death Metal world map. I’m impressed here and can only advice all of you Death Metal maniacs to check ’em out on their myspace page www.myspace.com/chaoticaeon or even better buy this cool, well-produced and professionally layouted demo CD with 6 songs of Death Metal in highest quality. I’m not sure if CHAOTIC AEON got some kind of "exotic bonus" in my mind because they are from China, or if they are really as impressive as I think right now.
