Chile has always been a great country for Metal, especially for Thrash Metal – and this 4-piece act CONFLICTED from Arica, Chile, makes no exception to that rule either. CONFLICTED’s debut 9-track studio album titled "Social Disorder" was released not that long time ago on the small Chilean label Sick Bangers, and the band’s Thrash Metal draws its influences mainly from the early Bay Area Thrash Metal scene, in which the guitar riffs, fierce solo work and certain type of melodies, play the most important roles within the song structures. Add also small portions of Hardcore elements to the band’s sound to get an idea how CONFLICTED in fact sound like – and just start enjoying what they do on their debut record. Then again, it also could be rudely said that there’s really nothing new in CONFLICTED that would surprise its listeners one way or the other but when it’s done good – it’s done good and that’s really enough to do the trick. CONFLICTED’s Thrash Metal ain’t the meanest sounding Thrash there’s available in today’s Metal scene. Take for example a song ‘This World’ that sounds very much like the guys would have just jammed together without any kind of purpose, the song ending up sounding kinda mellow and happy by nature. Then they have got moments in some of their songs, in which they take the opposite end – and just ending up sounding kinda wicked and mean. Those types of songs are ‘Experiments To Create Aberrations’ and ‘God Is Death’ where CONFLICTED adopt some sort of ‘SLAYER-esque’ mode, to thrash their hearts out.
