Finnish blackened Thrash Metal, with a great name and attitude. Yet, I must say that the style is growing to be the same ol’ recipe forged in time many years ago. Fast, beer influenced Thrash Metal with early Black Metal touches. Got it? Yeah, VENOM and early SLAYER takes a lot of the potion’s recipe, while some MOTÖRHEAD touches and a good dose of more punked-out Grind can be added to invoke the spirits in here. Also, the sound is a bit sloopy both in production and performance, not in a bad way, but certainly taking away identity on the band. A good production, does not means that it will all sound the same, nor the use of triggers and Pro-tooling all is the solution...just having a good guitar sound and a decent way to make out what the drummer is doing is on most of the cases a good way. Has this been a demo, it would be more appropriate and even understandable, but it is presented as the debut MCD, and in the thousands of bands in the same style, having lower production values makes it hard to be competitive. Obviously there is quite some good black humour to be found on this, and the band sounds like just trying to have a good fun and nothing else. In that aspect they do deliver what they were looking for, but to be honest, and while finding a good potential here, and not being all that bad, this is just another release more in the countless Thrash Metal revival era we are being offered now. www.myspace.com/crosswrecker, www.nosignoflife.com
