CRYPTIC REALMS
Enraptured By Horror
(Iron, Blood And Death Corporation / Death In Pieces Records)

An international band where their members I think have never rehearsed in the same room, but that share the same passion for extreme Metal and that breaks barriers using wisely the technology available to create this album. The members, that are from Mexico, Greece, Brazil and the United States, and that already released a demo / 7” EP and a split mini-album, have finally released a full length. Their style, and as the name indicates, is Death Metal in the old school form of Floridian Death Metal, with references to OBITUARY, MASSACRE and early DEATH with very tiny touches of Death Meal from Finland and Sweden from the early 90s.. With band members that have performed in acts like VOLTAX, ABYSSUS, ROTTING AWAY and OFFAL, the experience of these warriors can be heard in the way they deliver their Death Metal, pure and free from any influence rather than those of the extinction of life, darkness and horror. The overall sound has that asphyxiating aura in most of the songs, something that is missing in many newer retro Death Metal bands. What I can definitely notice here is that the production became a bit muddy and the guitar sound sometimes gets lost and the drums sound a bit sterile. Also the vocals sound a bit “dry”. I suppose this all happened due to the members recording in different places and that lack of human interaction in music, that somehow one can sense here. As it is, it sounds like a good demo from the 90s and in some way it does captures a bit that essence here. Old school Death Metal aficionados need to get this as it will surely fulfill the dreams of horror they long for. www.facebook.com/thecrypticrealms, http://ibdclabel666.bigcartel.com
