CUT UP
Wherever They May Rot

Swedish Death Metallers CUT UP, featuring two former members of the sadly now defunct VOMITORY (namely Tobias Gustafsson who handles drum duties here) and Erik Rundqvist (who handles bass guitar / vocals) return with their second album of brutal and bulldozing DEATH METAL in its purest form which is devastating and destructive in its delivery. The drums are pounding and precise with every beat, double kick and hit being hammered down with percussive power, the guitars cut through the mix like high powered buzzsaws, sharp and scathingly savage riffage which is layered with impressive CARCASS style lead work and melodies throughout. The vocals are deep and bellowing growls that roar furiously over the brutal barrage of bulldozing riffs. The bass provides a hefty low end and the instruments are mixed perfectly making this sophomore album an incredibly dense and weighty sounding musical beast. There’s obvious similarities to the relentless bludgeoning brutality of VOMITORY but CUT UP are a formidable and fierce force in their own right. There’s plenty of hooks that will sink into the skull of the listener like rusty meathooks and there’s a good variation of tempos, from blasting fast and frenetic sections to slower and more crunching chugging parts that grind through the speakers with a crushing effect and with songtitles like ‘Behead The Dead’, ‘From Ear To Ear’ and the title track they give fellow Swedes DEATH BREATH a good run for their money in the sickness stakes. This is a malevolent masterclass in Death Metal morbidity which will DISMEMBER your mind!! www.facebook.com/cutupofficial, www.metalblade.com
